2008 Christmas Letter

Dear Family and Friends,

I hope this holiday season finds you healthy and happy.

This is my first attempt at a Christmas letter so here it goes…2008 has been a great year!

In March, Vince and I went camping in Kerrville. We packed up the car and the dog and headed
to the Hill Country. The weather was perfect and I even learned how to fish. I didn’t catch anything but I wasn’t too upset. Anyone that knows me knows I wasn’t looking forward to touching a fish! Merlin (Vince’s mastiff) kept us company and enjoyed barking at the ducks.

In June, we went to Boston for my friend Joslyn’s engagement party. Boston was fabulous. I loved riding the train everywhere and the sightseeing. I think Boston is in line with Chicago on my list of favorite cities.

July was an eventful month. My beautiful niece Lani was born. She has a great smile and giggle and just lights up a room. I can’t wait to watch her grow up. Larry and Janae are great parents and it is so wonderful to see their family growing.

On the 11th I turned 30!! I wasn’t a big fan of turning 30 but have to say, it was a great day. Vince and a group of my friends surprised me for dinner. We headed to Karaoke afterwards and had a private room to sing and dance the night away. They made my 30th birthday very special.

Hurricane Ike made landfall in September. Luckily I was without power for less than 24 hours and the city seems to have bounced back quickly.

I earned my second Staffing certification in October. Carlton Staffing is a great company to work for. I have been with them for 2 ½ years.

November was a lot of fun!! Our company trip this year was to Puerto Rico. That was my first time to see a beach like this one. The water was clear and warm. We enjoyed gambling, lying on the beach, snorkeling, a catamaran ride and a banana boat ride.

Larry, Janae and Lani came to Schertz for Thanksgiving. It was a nice family holiday. Lani even went on her first zoo trip. My mom and dad make wonderful grandparents!

I can’t wait to see what happens in 2009!

Love Always, Janet Lynne

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was wonderful this year! My brother, his wife and My Little Lani came to San Antonio for the holiday. It was so amazing to see Lani and her sweet personality. She loves to talk and play and is just a happy baby.

Lani and I matched! We both had pink stripes and enjoyed some time together. She has bright blue eyes and definitely lights up a room.

Puerto Rico!

I just got back from an AWESOME trip to Puerto Rico. The company I work for has a contest each year the the prize is a free trip. Last year we went to Santa Fe, New Mexico and this year was Puerto Rico.

I'm sure it is hard to believe but I actually took the picture of the palm tree. The weather and water was beautiful and very warm. This was the first time I have seen a beach like this!

We went snorkeling, on a banana boat ride, gambled and basically just hung out. I have to say the Rum there does taste better. As soon as I get the photos back from the snorkeling trip I will post more.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to You,

No Explanation Needed.

Ruthie is a bit of a drama queen at times...her reactions are a little bit like mine when I was little. I'm sure my mom will agree with that.

I promise to start posting more interesting stuff soon. I am going to Puerto Rico next week for a few days so I'm sure I will have some pictures to post.

Daily Amusement

I guess this is officially my first post. :)

As you may or may not know, I read a comic called "One Big Happy". Ruthie, the little girl, cracks me up on a daily basis. She has an interesting way of viewing life. Here is one of my favorites:
