Wedding Shower

I had a wedding shower this weekend for my friend Joslyn. I am a bridesmaid in her wedding in Newport, Rhode Island this summer.



First step in planning... designing and making all of the invitations by hand:

Second...order a cake to match the invitation.

Third. Make centerpieces with pictures of the bride and groom:

This one was on the bar surrounded by food. I placed LED lights in the vase which illuminated the clear and red stones:

The shower was great!!! I made martini glasses for everyone and of course served red Pomegranate Martinis to match the decor.

Joslyn was a great bartender....and so was Katie!!

All in all...I would have to say it was a great night!

Springtime with Family

I spent the weekend with my wounderful family and My Little Lani. It was so great to see everyone and spend time together. Larry and Janae are doing great and are such loving parents.

My mom and dad just light up around Lani and seemed to enjoy having us all home.

Ok...I know...get to Lani!! She is getting so big and has a new tooth. Her new "thing" is a toothless grin that melts my heart. She may not look like she is smiling but we all know she is.

"Hey Aunt Janet, these overalls taste GREAT!!!"

"Look at me!! Thanks for lending a hand Grandma!. Pretty soon, I will be off and running. Think my Mommy and Daddy can keep up?"

"Good to see you Grandpa!! I love coming to Schertz to visit. Thank you for hanging that swing in the tree for me. It was so much fun!"

Kiss Me...I'm Irish

I always think of my Grandma Schmid (McGee) on St. Patricks Day. One of the last memories I have of her is at the nursing home. I painted her nails for her and we listened to "When Irish Eyes are Smiling". We all sat around, talked and just had a great time together.

I will participate in a 12 hour, overnight relay with a team in April in Sugar Land. You can track my progress along with my team's progress online.
