2008 Christmas Letter

Dear Family and Friends,

I hope this holiday season finds you healthy and happy.

This is my first attempt at a Christmas letter so here it goes…2008 has been a great year!

In March, Vince and I went camping in Kerrville. We packed up the car and the dog and headed
to the Hill Country. The weather was perfect and I even learned how to fish. I didn’t catch anything but I wasn’t too upset. Anyone that knows me knows I wasn’t looking forward to touching a fish! Merlin (Vince’s mastiff) kept us company and enjoyed barking at the ducks.

In June, we went to Boston for my friend Joslyn’s engagement party. Boston was fabulous. I loved riding the train everywhere and the sightseeing. I think Boston is in line with Chicago on my list of favorite cities.

July was an eventful month. My beautiful niece Lani was born. She has a great smile and giggle and just lights up a room. I can’t wait to watch her grow up. Larry and Janae are great parents and it is so wonderful to see their family growing.

On the 11th I turned 30!! I wasn’t a big fan of turning 30 but have to say, it was a great day. Vince and a group of my friends surprised me for dinner. We headed to Karaoke afterwards and had a private room to sing and dance the night away. They made my 30th birthday very special.

Hurricane Ike made landfall in September. Luckily I was without power for less than 24 hours and the city seems to have bounced back quickly.

I earned my second Staffing certification in October. Carlton Staffing is a great company to work for. I have been with them for 2 ½ years.

November was a lot of fun!! Our company trip this year was to Puerto Rico. That was my first time to see a beach like this one. The water was clear and warm. We enjoyed gambling, lying on the beach, snorkeling, a catamaran ride and a banana boat ride.

Larry, Janae and Lani came to Schertz for Thanksgiving. It was a nice family holiday. Lani even went on her first zoo trip. My mom and dad make wonderful grandparents!

I can’t wait to see what happens in 2009!

Love Always, Janet Lynne
